In 2025 he was recognized as the only swimmer who has completed the Sharkfest Swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco for 21 consecutive years, and he finished in Second Place in his age group. The past 13 years he has swam without wearing a wetsuit in water that is typically below 60 degrees.
